25JUL2014 // PREVIEW LOOKS PT. 1

Look 1-  Striped Reverse Shirt: CDG Shirt / Trousers: Costume National / Monk Strap Shoes: Balenciaga

Look 2-  Lawn Tee: American Apparel / Culottes: Vintage (Terriblay) / Sneakers: CDG PLAY

Sharing the looks that were featured in this month's issue of Preview MagazineTinay Villiamel (owner and creative director of Bleach Store) and I were placed under the conversation of Genderless Dressing for this year's Best Dressed issue, and these are the two main looks I came up with that were published in the magazine. The shoot went so smoothly, and the only reason I knew what to do in terms of posing was all due to the direction by the super talented Vince Uy.

Comme des Garçons is the absolute epitome of genderless dressing, its literal translation from French is "Like Boys". Needless to say, I gain a lot of inspiration from Rei Kawakubo's amazing work, and aspire to wear her designs more often someday! I have two other looks that weren't published in the magazine, I'll be sharing them here soon!

11JUL2014 // UPCYCLING PT. 3

Top: DIY / Shorts: H&M / Sneakers: CDG PLAY / Kasumi Envelop: Wabisabi / Sunnies: Sunnies Studios

Here's the last part of my up cycling blog post series, it's a crop top that I made from an old turtleneck knit. This one was super easy because all I had to do was cut the neck, arms, and body, then sew the sides for a tighter fit. I really like the unfinished edges, and the way the fabric curls on the hem. I made this early last year, and did a blog post wearing it here. Over the past year, the crop top has easily become a wardrobe staple and is now really easy to find. I just like the idea of a DIY because 1- up cycling! 2- not many others are gonna have the same one ;)

10JUL2014 // PREVIEW BEST DRESSED 2014

See the video here (Stylebible.ph)

The very lovely Tinay Villiamel (owner and creative director of Bleach Store) and I were picked as two of Preview Magazine's Best Dressed list for 2014, under the theme of Genderless Dressing. Even though the shoot was held some months ago, I still find myself speechless and quite nervous about this little highlight of my year. There is really nothing like being appreciated for the things you love and have a real passion for. I started this blog as an outlet for my personal style and interests, and maybe the few events that I attend. I've really been blessed to be surrounded by people that support and inspire me, this has made a lot of things come to life. Thanks to you. Thanks so much, Preview, for the amazing feature!

P.S. I'll be posting some outfit photos from the shoot soon xx

04JUL2014 // SKIN CITY

Shorts: Custom made by my design / Heels: Melissa x John Paul Gaultier / Purse: Prada

Preview Magazine had their annual ball this year with the theme of Skin City. What to do when you can't find anything you really want to wear? Make something, or better yet, have it made (due to limited skills and time). The theme was really open to a variety of interpretations, but I went with the idea of 'skin' in general (fabrication and my own skin). I had some yards of faux leather sitting at home, and luckily a great tailor to work with who put my design to life in a span of three days! So happy with the outcome. The top was inspired by the amazing Maria Van Nguyen's super cropped top design, I got in touch with her and she let me borrow the idea (thanks again Maria!); the shorts have huge slits on the sides, unfortunately we were rushing with the photos and also admittedly had a little too much fun at the party that we forgot to take photos of that detail. Not to worry, I'll wear it to an outfit post sometime soon. Thanks for the fun times, Preview!

P.S. My hair is purple for the moment!
